About the project

Renew Records is a Dutch second-hand vinyl store shipping worldwide from Valthe. The catalogue runs to more than 33,000 records held in stock — LPs, 7" singles, 12" and maxi-singles, from classics to rare pressings — each honestly graded and carefully checked before it goes out. Around the records sits a growing range of essentials: vinyl care, protective sleeves, displays and band merchandise. With 27,000 customer reviews averaging 9.6, the trust was already there. The storefront needed to show it.

The challenge

A catalogue of 33,000+ one-off records is hard to browse: every item is unique, new stock lands constantly, and a shopper needs a fast route in by genre or format before they ever search. The brand's strongest proof — 27,000 reviews, a 9.6 average, stock shipped directly from its own shelves — had to be visible in the first screen rather than buried. And the non-vinyl range had outgrown a single menu link: care products, sleeves, displays, mugs, clothing, flags, wall decor, concert signs and gifts needed a home of their own that reads as part of the same shop.

What we built

A redesign of the homepage and the Essentials page on Shopify, in a dark, warm record-shop palette with a single orange accent.

The homepage opens on the number that defines the store — 33,000+ records, directly from stock — with a turntable hero, dual CTAs into the full catalogue and new arrivals, and the review score right under the buttons. A five-point trust bar follows (stock, worldwide shipping, secure payment, reviews, sustainable choice), then a free-gift-with-every-order block to lift order value. Genre tiles with live record counts give ten ways into the catalogue, and three new-arrival carousels split stock by format — LPs, 7" singles, 12" and maxi-singles — with condition grades on every card. A featured deal, an Essentials teaser, a why-Renew-Records block and verified customer reviews close the page.

The Essentials page turns nine categories into a numbered, image-led grid — Vinyl Care, Sleeves, Displays, Mugs, Clothing, Flags, Wall Decor, Concert Signs and Gifts — each card with its own artwork, a one-line description and a direct shop button, plus anchor chips at the top for jumping straight to a category.
